This prestigious event brought together scholars, practitioners, and students from around the world to explore the intersections of sustainability, education, and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The opening session was marked by the presence of four prominent keynote speakers, each a leading figure in their respective fields:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Matt Bower \u2013 Macquarie University, Australia<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Matt Bower is a passionate educator recognized internationally for his contributions to technology-enhanced learning and ICT in education. At Macquarie University, he leads subjects such as <em>ICT and Education<\/em>, <em>Digital Technologies and Creativity<\/em>, and <em>Technology-Enhanced Learning Design<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His outstanding dedication to education earned him one of the Australian Awards for University Teaching Excellence in 2021, alongside several other national and institutional honors. Prof. Bower is also the author of the acclaimed book <em>\u201cDesign of Technology-Enhanced Learning: Integrating Research and Practice\u201d<\/em>, which won the 2018 AECT Design and Development Outstanding Book Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond academia, Prof. Bower plays a critical role in educational policymaking. He chairs the Australian Technologies Teacher Educators Network (ATTEN) and serves as the Australian Council of Deans of Education (ACDE) representative on the Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) Technologies Panel, while also contributing to various panels for the NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his keynote, Prof. Bower emphasized the importance of integrating research-based practices into technology-driven education, encouraging educators to design inclusive and sustainable learning environments that adapt to the evolving digital landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Juliana Othman \u2013 Universiti Malaya, Malaysia<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Juliana Othman is a highly respected scholar in Language Education with more than 25 years of experience. She currently serves at the Faculty of Education, Universiti Malaya, where she has held key leadership roles, including Chair of the Centre for Research in Language Education (CRiLE) and Head of the Department of Language &amp; Literacy Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her distinguished career is marked by numerous accolades, including the Fulbright Scholar Fellowship, the Asian University Alliance Scholar recognition, and invitations as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Washington. She is also a consultant for various British Council research projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In her keynote address, Prof. Othman explored the role of language education in fostering sustainability and social equity, highlighting the need for multilingual and multicultural perspectives in educational development. She stressed the importance of teacher education, applied linguistics research, and international collaboration in addressing the challenges of sustainability in education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Anwei Feng \u2013 University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Anwei Feng is a leading researcher in multilingualism and multilingual education, particularly within ethnic minority contexts. As a co-founder and Vice President of the Chinese Society of Multilingualism and Multilingual Education (CSMME), he has spearheaded a nationwide trilingual education project involving over 50 researchers across 11 minority regions in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His extensive research, supported by multiple national and regional funding bodies, has resulted in numerous international symposia on trilingualism and minority education. His notable publications include <em>\u201cTrilingualism in Education in China\u201d<\/em> (2015), co-edited with Bob Adamson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Feng\u2019s keynote focused on the impact of multilingual education on social inclusion, cultural preservation, and sustainable development, drawing insights from his decades-long research in minority regions. He underscored the importance of policy-driven, culturally responsive education systems that recognize linguistic diversity as a resource rather than a barrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Hassan Adeel \u2013 UNESCO-ICHEI<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Hassan Adeel, a Programme Specialist at the International Centre of Higher Education Innovation (ICHEI) under UNESCO, brought a global policy perspective to the conference. With a strong belief that education is a fundamental human right, Mr. Adeel advocates for equal access to education through ICT-driven innovations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He works extensively with policymakers and stakeholders across the Asia-Pacific and African regions, promoting equitable, quality higher education and supporting the achievement of SDGs\/Education 2030 goals. His expertise bridges technology, policy, and sustainable educational development, making him a vital voice in international educational reform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his keynote, Mr. Adeel highlighted the critical role of ICT in bridging educational gaps, fostering inclusive learning environments, and strengthening higher education systems to meet sustainability challenges in developing regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Engaging Discussions with UNTAN Students<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The keynote session also sparked engaging discussions with participants, including master\u2019s students from Universitas Tanjungpura (UNTAN), Indonesia. Notably, Bayu Nugraha and Derek, both Master of English Education students, actively contributed to the Q&amp;A session by raising insightful questions on AI-integrated teaching and learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their questions explored how artificial intelligence can be harnessed to enhance personalized learning experiences, improve assessment strategies, and support teachers in creating more sustainable and efficient educational ecosystems.
